Grilled ginger pork ( Shogayaki )
豚の生姜焼き ( buta no shogayaki )
This is one japanese dish that I cook all the time , to be honest specially when I feel lazy to cook but still want something tasty to eat.
Pork shogayaki is one of the most common dish to make at home in Japan. It's easy, quick and inexpensive.
Generally cooked with thin pork slices, I like make mine with thicker pork chop.
GRILLED GINGER PORK - 豚の生姜焼き INGREDIENTS (for two) - Pork chops - Onions 1/2 - Grated ginger 1 tbsp - Soy sauce 2 tbsp - Mirin 2 tbsp - Cooking sake 1 tbsp - Honey 1 tbsp ( Japanese use white sugar but you can substitute with any sweetener that you like,I often use maple syrup and it works perfectly). - Pepper DIRECTIONS 1) In a small bowl,mix all the ingredients together 2) Fry the chops in medium heat around 2mn on both sides 3) Pour the sauce over the pork and continue frying another minute. 4) Serve with rice and salad on the side That's it, Quick,easy and delicious !
